Dr. Rocío Carratalá-Sáez
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Universitat de València, a position I’ve held since February 2025.
I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in 2021, following an M.Sc. in Distributed and Parallel Computing from the Universitat Politècnica de València in 2016, and a B.Sc. in Computational Mathematics from UJI in 2015.
I’m passionate about High Performance Computing (HPC), which is the focus of my main research. In particular, I work on the optimization and parallelization of linear algebra algorithms and scientific applications.
Teaching is my other great passion. I also conduct research on innovative teaching methods, with a strong focus on improving the courses I teach in Computer Science at the university level.
I strongly believe in the importance of outreach, and I truly enjoy it. I actively participate in promoting Computer Science to audiences of all ages — from preschoolers to university students.
